WT was commissioned for a strategic renovation project for existing multistorey buildings in Dubai. The aim of the assignment was: short lead times, low costs of intervention and high formal and functional implementation. WT has developed, in collaboration with a leading company of metal facades, a system of a new lightweight, malleable and great effectfull skin façade made of perfored and folded aluminum sheet. In this project the fundamental concept is the idea of "regeneration" and "renaissance" of the building through an interchangeable envelope that surrounds and transform the facade, without demolitions and architectural modifications. A new skin developed by WT to optimize functionality and acceptance of the building, a new frontier for public and residential structures. WT paid particular attention to the integration of this new architectural solution with advanced systems to optimize the energy performance of the building, taking advantage of the natural ventilation and the balance of the natural light provided by the double-façade. Each design solution for the façade skins features a key theme, a specific concept, on which the design idea is based. .
